Deceptive influences–forged letters, false reports, or so-called Spirit-guided messages–can lead unsuspecting hearers into false conclusions. “Don’t be mis-led,” is a great warning!
So, let’s ask a few piercing questions. Who was the man of sin? What was the gathering? When was the apostasy? If this doesn’t provide grist for speculative milling, I don’t know what does!
And here is the kicker: Paul warned that God would send a deluding influence upon everyone who didn’t love the truth! An unwillingness to change conclusions when change is warranted dooms one to hold fast to error…and be lost.
