Daniel 12 is one of the key passages for the resurrection and from which almost every New Testament draws from as its source. Bellview also had Glenn Hitchcock to preach their in years past on a similar lectureship where he taught that Daniel 12 was not speaking of the resurrection of a physical body from the ground. He said it was spiritual resurrection.
Dub McClish says other approaches to the book are possible as long as they are not views about Preterism. He limits the key player of chapter 11 to Rome and says chapter 12 is limited to that time.
Then he applies it to Matthew 24, saying it was fulfilled in that time, but is not a text referring to the general resurrection. He agrees Daniel 12 does not refer to the general resurrection saying the change from the destruction of Jerusalem in v. 1 would be too abrubt with no immediate contextual relationship. Says its a limit resurrection as “many” but not all.
