An examination of Covenant Eschatology in the light of Joel’s prophecy as advanced by Bruce Stulting. He begins with a strawman attack by saying that fulfilled Bible prophecy destroys hope. As many times and as many people who have refuted this quibble yet such men continue to ignore the clear refutation, even when supported with a BIble text, and solid reasoning.
Another apparent problem Stutling raises is the time of the last days. He makes this refer to the end of the Christian age. This is a reasonable assertion based on the traditions in which these brethren were raised. However, they are direct contradictions of the Scriptures. Only by ignoring the plaining stated texts and use of reasoning can they be forced to the end of what never ends!
Stutling claims the Holy Spirit was poured out in complete fulfillment of Joel’s prophecy in the day of Pentecost. He ignores any mention to the great and terrible day of the Lord as the terminal point of the prophecy. Perhaps the reading of John 16 could help.
These and more will be addressed in tonight’s study.
