Kenneth L. Gentry, Jr., ThD, and author of Before Jerusalem Fell, The Beast of Revelation and Navigating the Book of Revelation, to name a few of his works, has launched an attack against Full Preterism, also known as Realized Eschatology or Covenant Eschatology. Gentry wrote in his blog via question, “Are Preterists Really Futurists? The Title is quite misleading and attempts to skew the issues ever so slightly. Gentry is a PARTIAL Preterist. That means not Full or Consistent. Why is that the case? It’s because he yet believers in a FUTURE return of Christ. That make’s him a FUTURIST. Thus, the reason for our modification of his title above: Are PARTIAL PRETERISTS Really FUTURISTS? We answer a resounding yes as we discuss the reasons on tonight’s broadcast.

This is very important because in Gentry’s latest blog, PostmillennialismToday.com, he acknowledges the growth and influence of the Consistent Preterist view. First, he refutes a charge of wishful thinking by Sam Frost who argued that Full Preterism was not growing. Gentry’s concern is that it is getting out of hand for futurists. They tried to control it by shutting down communication within the walls of the church buildings and on their limited platforms, but he acknowledged that the internet has been the main source of our growth. Add to that a host of publications, seminars, and events.

He calls the imminent time statements, “this generation”, “coming soon” “at hand”, “shortly to come to pass” leaping off points for the fulfillment of all Bible prophecy. Yet, Gentry leaps off from the Creeds, in arguing for the same terms to support his view of the Book of Revelation. He makes other unfounded charges. We will address them in tonight’s broadcast. You don’t want to miss it.
