Death Is Swallowed Up In Victory 1 Corinthians 15:54
Death Is Swallowed Up In Victory 1 Cor. 15:54
It is assumed that death in 1 Corinthians 15 is about bodies. Mostly what creates this intepretive mindset is the lack of understanding and context of the Old Testament. Since 1 Corinthians 15:54 is quoting “what is written”, it has an O.T. background and contex that must not be ignored.
Isaiah chapter 25:6-9, is part of the “Little Apocalypse” of Isaiah which includes chapters 24-27:1-13. These chapters give a very compact discussion of the eschatological events. The swallowing up of death in Isaiah 25:8 is a part of that context. It is connected to much more than that single verse.
In this video we identify the city associated with the swallowing up of death and about 5 key points found in Isaiah 25, 1 Corinthians 15 and the closing chapters of Revelation. Putting on Immortality
The subject of putting on immortality is interwoven in the beautiful tapestry and imagery of Isaiah 25, Revelation 19 and 21. Within these verses are at least 6 key elements that tie Isaiah 25 and 1 Cor. 15:54 together. They the city, the veil, the tabernacle, the messianic (wedding) banquest, death, and salvation.
