Were the N.T. saints the firstfruits according to James 1:18? Why is there a denial of the firstfruits saints spoken of in the New Testament? In our review of Drew Leonard’s resurrection position, he has written in his lecture at the Southaven Power Lectures 2017, “Truly, the “firstfruits” just means “first gathered”, and in some cases it does refer to the Jeiwsh converts, as in James 1:18–see Romans 1:16–but the concept is one that speak sof “judgment” and “harvest” which is a motif used in places other than only A.D. 70…” Power 17 Lectures, p. 76.
