1 Cor. 15:50 Resurrection and the Kingdom of God
1 Corinthians 15:50
Why does 1 Corinthians 15:50, a verse which speaks of inheriting the kingdom of God, appear in the middle of Paul’s discussion on bodily resurrection? He had just spoken of putting off the image of the earthly man and putting on the image of the heavenly man. If you have not watched that video, it is a must see.
However, in the video below, we demonstrate why 1 Corinthians 15:50 is a key text regarding the resurrection. It belongs in the context, but how? Why?
In the video below we discuss the meaning of “flesh and blood” in the context of 1 Corinthians 15. We demonstrate how it is not possible for flesh and blood to inherit the kingdom.
Passages explored are:
Gal. Matt. 16:17;
Gal. 1:16
John 1:12, 13, 3:3-8
Does 1 Corinthians 15:50 contradict Hebrews 12:28? The answers to these questions are found in the video.
Inheriting The Kingdom of God
It is believed by many who yet look for the coming of Christ, that flesh and blood, meaning their human bodily substance cannot inherit the kingdom. They believe that when they arrive at the end of the Christian age, this is the time when they will undergo a bodily transition. They mistakenly take the phrase, “then comes the end” as the end of time. However, there is no such concept in the Bible.
In the video we demonstrate the flaws of the above presentation and show a more harmonious view of the Scripture that aligns with the text. Isaiah 9:7, Lk. 1:32, 33, and Eph. 3:21 all demonstrate that there is no end of the current Christian/kingdom age in which we now live.
The Flesh and Blood Man Equals The Natural (Psuchikos) Man
Futurists and physical body advocates have created a fatal trap for themselves. They admit that the flesh and blood man is the man in his physical state. They also reason that the natural man is man in his physical state. Thus, by their logic, the flesh and blood man must be the natural man. However, the natural man is not an example of a physial versus non-corporeal person.
